Good Beer Week is a pretty big deal. Some people reference it as the biggest event in Australia’s beer calendar, others say; “every week is Good Beer Week” and us Barrow Boys? We just happen to agree on all of the above. From near and far, Brewers, Beer lovers and many others collect together in Melbourne to explore a variety of beers & events running from Friday the 13th May – Sunday the 22nd May. In the spirit of community, great beer and good times we have a few things on this year and would love to see you there.

Here’s a line-up of events you’ll find us boys loitering at as the days roll on:

Saturday May 14th – “Fresh from the Barrow” at World Restaurant, South Bank
The resident chef is preparing a grazer plate to match five of our recent creations, including new releases, regular favourites and one we’ve kept aside for the week.

Sunday May 15th – “Beer Hall, Beers & Beards” at Stray Neighbour, Preston
A beard competition in conjunction with Lords of the North barbers. Plenty of local craft beer pouring, with prizes for the best beards or moustache.

Monday May 16th – “Cookie’s Gypsy Ho-down” at Cookie, Melbourne
Cookie is hosting a weeklong event to celebrate Australia’s best ‘Gypsy’ brewers. A ‘Gypsy Brewer’ is a brewer who does not own pots & pans of their own, but instead brew nomadically either out of other Brewer’s facilities or in someone’s shed.

Tuesday May 17th – “Harvest to Ferment” at The Astor, Carlton
The Astor will be our hub for the week, serving all of our recent beers throughout the week (or until they’re gone). Grab a ticket to Tuesday evening where The Astor will put on a 5 course meal matched to our different brews.

Tuesday May 17th – “Birch and The Brewers” at The Cellar Door by Public Brewery, Eastlands
We’ll be part of their 4 course dinner, with our soon to be released porter pairing up with one of the courses, along with a beer by Hawkers and The Public Brewery.

Wednesday May 18th – “Brewers Burgers” at Tramway Hotel, Fitzroy North
The Tramway hotel are crafting up a burger named “The Pedlar” to match our Pedlars Pale. Stop by and replenish your energy levels with “The Pedlar”. A beef burger patty stuffed with a soft Swiss cheese, topped with bacon and a lashing of pineapple relish to bring out the tropical notes in our Pedlars Pale.

Friday May 20th – “Pint of Origin” at The Terminus Hotel, Fitzroy North
The Terminus Hotel is hosting ‘Pint of Origin’ for Victoria again this year, and we’ll be there on the Friday afternoon to have a chat and share a few brews. Come along and have a swirl from our Dry Hopped pale cask.

Friday May 20th – Sunday May 22nd – “GABS” at Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton
The Great Australian Beer Spectacular has become one of the world’s best beer festivals. We’ll be rolling our barrow in this year, with three different beers in tow.

Sunday May 22nd – “Cask-off 2016” at Holgate Brewhouse, Woodend
We’re happy to be part of this annual tradition, and will be heading up with some fresh ale to be served straight from the cask.

Hard to say where we’ll be on the Monday following but safe to say there will be a blanket and a pot of nourishing soup nearby to remedy our heads.
